The custom of burning incense cones or candles has a long tradition and originates from the Ore Mountains, the low mountain range between Saxony and Bohemia. The production of incense has historically been rooted there for many hundreds of years. With the invention of the so-called Räuchermännchen (incense man), it became known far beyond the region. It's not just their pleasant scent that makes incense cones so popular. They also have a spiritual significance. Smudging rooms is said to purify them, support spiritual practices, and promote relaxation.

When handling incense cones, care should be taken to ensure that the surface is heat-resistant and that flammable materials are kept away.

The production of incense cones is quite complex and traditionally accomplished by hand. Incense cones consist of a mixture of wood, herbs, and resins to which a specific fragrance is added. The individual substances are mixed, and the resulting moist dough is then formed into the familiar cone-like shape and completely dried. Similar to incense sticks, the cones are briefly lit at their tip and then blown out. As the cone smolders, they spread their incomparable fragrance. The palette ranges from warm and earthy scents to citrus notes and floral aromas. The selection is vast! Ingredients such as chamomile, sandalwood, and jasmine promote relaxation and have a calming effect, while citrus scents are refreshing and invigorating.
